Design Technology is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject.
At St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School, using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, taking responsibility by considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.

We aim for our children to acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathematics, science, engineering, computing and art.
Pupils learn to take risks, becoming resourceful, resilient, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. Through the evaluation of past and present design and technology, they can reflect and develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life.
High-quality design and technology education enables pupils to develop their curiosity and makes an essential contribution to the creativity, wealth and well-being of the nation.
Design Technology is taught through topic lessons. They are planned carefully around the children’s interests, providing opportunities for the development of skills and integration with other subjects.
