Every bench has a story...
https://bookbenchstgregorys.wixsite.com/lila-secret-of-rain/our-bench
Who has sat on this bench today? Why did they need to sit down? Are they tired? Why?
Or do they need to sit and think? Why?
Or are they waiting for someone? Who?
Or were they attracted to the bench because of the design? Does it hold magical properties that only they know about? What are they?
Write a short story about who sits on the bench today. Create 2 or 3 characters that could sit on our bench and write a diary entry from either their point of view or from a narrator's point of view. Remember to use paragraphs and fronted adverbials followed by a comma! :)
Share your stories here so we can see who 'sits' on our bench!!

Dear Diary,
Today the most unbelievable thing happened! I had just started the annual Compascience (science race) and just as I was zooming in my expensive, galactic spaceship. I came across an exquisite, dark blue planet. Upon it, a tiny orange dot in the distance beckoned me to come closer.
Eventually, I discovered the glowing orange was a BENCH! It had strange paintings of people in an ancient world and had a worrying message "without water their can be no life" Anyway, I was tired and needed to sit down . As I sat down, on the puzzling bench it actually was very comfortable, but when I tried to get off I was stuck! Instantly, the bench rumbled and "pop " it disappeared and me with it. All of a sudden, I was sucked into a colourful, colossal vortex it swirled all around me .
In the blink of an eye, the vortex dissolved into the bench and found myself in a new world. Where was I ? There were lots of squalid tiny houses and a stampede of people . I came to an old funny looking lady with a bowl on her head full of fruit . "erm excuse me where am I?" the lady shrugged and gave me a stern look "what do you mean ? you are in Kenya" I looked all around me and felt very heart broken for everyone

Today, I went for a walk with my brother. First of all, when we left our house, we saw pigeons attacking a man. We stopped to help him and rescued him. We chased all the pigeons away. The man was very thankful and gave us some water to drink.
We carried on our adventure and we came across a fox that was having some baby cubs. She looked like she was in trouble so we stopped and helped her. To thank us she let us hold her baby cubs.
Then we carried on our journey, we came across a river and decided to play a game of stone skimming. I won of course; Romeo accidentally hit a fish. Then the weirdest thing happened and the fish shouted at us. “STOP THROWING THEM STONES!” We were in shock. We both apologized and the fish said it was okay. He told us if we carried on walking along the river we would come to a magical kingdom of tiny people and it would help us get home quicker. He said that he would show us the way.
We followed the fish and came upon a grand entrance with golden trees around it. The fish told us to shout Freddy the fish is the best. Suddenly the golden trees opened and let us in, we stood there for a minute until one of the little people said “what are you doing here?” we replied, “Freddy sent us.” The little person let out a humungous sigh “Freddy is a pest. So, where would you like to go?” We told the little person all about our day and how we had been helping people, she smiled and said, “I’m going to send you home. But on the way you will stop at a magic bench, it will have some treats for you both for being so kind.”
We said thank you and with a quick little swish we were gone and before we knew it, we were sitting on the bench. The little person had left us some lovely treats to eat and also a little note that said, see you again soon, love from Mr. Small and Freddy.

Well done Xavier! A very imaginative story! I'm glad you were so kind in the story - it made me laugh when you said 'I won of course'! I wonder what treats were left on the bench for you??!!
