What a fantastic day at Quarry Bank Mill!
Would you like to loose your hearing? Would you like to work barefoot? Would you like to work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week? Would you like to have the opportunity to loose a limb, go bald, loose a finger or cough up cotton from your lungs every day? Then come and work at Quarry Bank Mill!!!
Year 4 had a fabulous day at Quarry Bank learning all about Victorian mill workers.
We also got to use compasses to find our way around the village of Styal - we all now know how to work out which way is north!
Take a look at our photos!

Tuesday we all went to Quarry Bank Mill which is near Manchester airport. I liked the big water wheel, it was used to work the machines. It was fun doing the jobs that Victorian children use to do like carrying the cans and scavenging. But I wouldn't like to do any of those jobs for 12 hours a day and would rather go to school! I didn't like the walk in the morning.
