Chorley School Sports Partnership

At St. Gregory's we have used a proportion of the School Sports Grant funding to approve a service level agreement with Chorley Schools Sports Partnership (CSSP) whose remit is to:

  • Support schools to deliver 2 hours of high quality PE every week thus improving the PE experience for ALL young people.
  • Enable every young person to enjoy competition and provide support to the most talented to progress, increasing participation at every level.
  • Develop a new generation of coaches working in schools
  • Connect schools with community club sports
  • Support the development of an increased number of young leaders and adult volunteers working in school sport
  • Use PE and sport to inspire learning and achievement
  • Support and develop school staff confidence and competence in delivery PE and School Sport, specifically with PE subject leader development Their services include:
  • Coaching: 120 hours: salaries, on cost, training, CRB, kit & mileage
  • Level 1 School Games Competitions: 6 Half termly competitions; including certificates and trained young leaders
  • Level 2 School Games Competitions: A total of 20 Competitions per year; including medals, certificates, venues, trophies & staffing  
  • Level 3 School Games: Transport, organisation & delivery
  • Leagues: 4 Sports Leagues – organisation and awards
  • Bikeability: Level 1 & 2 delivery & rewards
  • Balance Bike Training for Reception Pupils
  • Inclusion: 5 events per year inc; medals, certificates, venues, and staffing
  • G&T: Assess all year 6 class, identify those to attend 6 week camp
  • Change 4 life: develop a network of C4L clubs, resources, equipment & staffing
  • Resources: website / equipment / calendar / curriculum resources
  • School Staff Support: Subject leaders networks and CPD opportunities
  • Leadership: Young Leader Training & Bronze Ambassadors
  • Foundation Festivals : 3 themed festivals per year, certificates and staffing
  • PE Post: Support for PLT with planning and organising PE and sport related activities
  • PE Curriculum Development: Support with planning and implementation of scheme of work, assessment & curriculum mapping.
  • National School Sports Week: Support with planning and delivering activities.
  • Applications for kitemarks and initiatives
  • School staff development: INSETs, meeting, mentoring 3
  • CSSP Manager: Provide leadership, management and development for all programmes and staff.
  • Budget; Finance & Payroll
  • Reports, Monitoring and evaluation
  • Marketing and PR
