In Year 4 we have been making purses, wallets, phones socks and handbags. First we looked at other designs that were professionally made and got some ideas. Then we designed our own. We had to think about colour, shape, size and how we would stitch it together. Then we made a practice (prototype) to prepare ourselves for stitching the final design. Then we made the real thing! We had to think about colour and what fabric we would use. Lots of people chose lots of different designs. It was hard to make as we found it difficult to thread our needle! But we kept going and didn't give up. Some people used overstitch, others used running stitch. We also sewed on buttons and decoration. We are pleased with our results! Let us know what you think.

I made a phone case using lots of different fabrics. I stitched the edges of the phone case with a needle and thread. I cut out the letters of my name and glued them on to the front. I really enjoyed this activity.
